Lake Starnberg Museum, which
was founded in 1914 as a museum
of local history, is located in the
historic listed Lochmann property.
The collection provides infor-
mation about the life and working
culture of the lake inhabitants in
the nineteenth and twentieth
centuries.
The documentation of the over
500-year history of the magni-
ficent royal fleet on Lake
Starnberg is housed in a modern,
spacious extension. The central
exhibit is the Dolphin, the only
preserved ship of the Bavarian
royal house.
Special exhibitions and topic-
related activities for young and
old complete the museum’s offers.
