The historic centre of Dachau
and its palace are perched on a
saddle overlying the Amper
river. Today the town still
conveys the picturesque charm
and intimacy of a historic
Bavarian market town. Amidst
the historic centre with its
burgher houses from the seven-
teenth to the nineteenth centuries,
you will find two museum
collections well worth seeing:
the Bezirksmuseum Dachau and
the Gemäldegalerie Dachau.
The Neue Galerie is located at
the foot of Dachau’s palace hill
(Schlossberg).
